Full Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse in Taurus. 10/28/2023

Foresight and preservation vs instant gratification and extraction. Taurus and Scorpio polarity deals with questions of life and death, life and death of nature, life and death of humanity, it deals with the spirit that seeks safety, with choices that are rooted in values vs ones that grow in fear. Taurus can choose life that is all about preservation when it can look death in the face and not look away.

The last Eclipse on the axis of Scorpio and Taurus arrives this Saturday and brings an ending not just to a cycle that started almost two years ago, but to the one that started over 18 years ago. Find a house that has Taurus on its cusp, themes of that house are going to be resolving and culminating in the next two weeks, and from here a new cycle really begins.

New value visions are trying to be born, but for that to happen the old value paradigm needs to go. Taurus is a sign of fullness, of bounty, sign of preservation and quality, it is Venus ruled sign. We have to ask ourselves, what are we filling ourselves with, and what are we trying to preserve? This is a foundational Full Moon, it is fixed, it is earthy, it wants solutions that make us feel content through the changing of times, through the moving of lands. Often food, consumerism are the first things we reach for to feel full, but for the fixed sign it is like a bandage on an open wound, it doesn’t last, it is not fixed. Satisfaction has a cost, and the price depends on how deeply and fearlessly we can meet our shadow, see Scorpio placement, the gaping wound. If we do not master this courage, we are going to keep running into this emptiness and hunger, and that facilitates further extraction and greed.

True content, true safety and abundance need to have a quality of longevity and foresight, and unfortunately what we have been doing collectively painfully lacks foresight and understanding that preservation is the only path to safety and abundance, no space traveling or technological wonders will get us there. Ask yourself what are you going to set your focus on in terms of preservation, and how are you going to choose to fill yourself up? How does the lack of vision keep leaving you unfulfilled and hungry? No food, no possessions can ever fill us up, if the values we collectively rely on are profoundly out of whack and the future is sacrificed for a brief moment of satisfaction.

If we can’t confidently say that there will be resources, there will be good soil, there will be a sense of abundance for our descendents, we really do not understand the power of the fixed earth, and the price for this idleness of spirit is very high. Venus, the ruler of this Eclipse, is in Virgo. Venus in her fall sign is making judgements out of duality and separation, when the work of the spirit here is to do the job out of resonance and grounded healing. Venus in Virgo is making harmonious trines to Uranus and Jupiter in Taurus that are both retrograde. There is support for real change, for the new pathways to abundance that are catalytic and carry the Jupiterian quest for truth and justice. Keep in mind the real fruits of these changes will start showing up when Jupiter and Uranus turn direct. This is Earth, you cannot rush the Earth.

Mercury with Mars in Scorpio in opposition to Jupiter in Taurus act as an energetic force of this lunation, the desire and will power to get to the core of the matter, to dig into the underbelly of the collective and individual fears, shadows and power dynamics with this Mars/Mercury is unmatched. And opposition to Jupiter expanding it all so much, that there is no looking away. The Eclipse is in Taurus, when the North Node is in Aries. Safety, aligned values, preservation of resources, joy of authentic living, honoring life, truly honoring life requires a lot of courage and decisiveness, that is where North Node in Aries comes in. Happy Eclipse in Taurus. Keep honoring life, no matter the cost.
