Week of October 9th to 15th. 2023

Welcome to Eclipse Week. The complex web of current transits are deconstructing a lot of long standing attachments and habits, lessening our persistent resistance to change and desire for control by the ways of the physical restraints, energetic depletion and maybe through the choices made by people in our life, we have little control over. All of this is meant to open new portals for your development, closing certain doors, directing you to compromise with yourself about how you envisioned the unfolding of some of your plans and ideas. The compromise is a profoundly internal ordeal this week, your sense of comfort is going through some necessary cuts for the sake of a bigger picture, a lot more directional focus is available in the second half of the week with Mars in Scorpio, but the kind of focus that needs some simmering and sharpening. This week can present certain unexpected twists and turns, whatever you do, do not act or respond so you can release some of this mounting pressure, try not to make rushed decisions, know that we are in the liminal space of the unfolding that is beyond our immediate understanding.

The week starts with the Moon cruising through the last decan of Leo, on her way to meet Venus newly in Virgo. Moon here in Leo can deliver her last intuitive insights about the very long Venus in Leo transit, and pass the torch to Venus in Virgo. As she comes in conjunction with Venus on Tuesday morning, the emotional tone really shifts, to more serious and focused on planning and execution of those plans.  At the same time Pluto is stationary, ready to turn direct on Tuesday, the backdrop of this Eclipse week is demanding self control and profound self care.

Also on Monday, October 9th Venus in Virgo forms opposition to Saturn in Pisces at 0º degrees. Though relatively brief, this transit can create a sense of the gloom and difficulty connecting to the bigger picture. On the axis of healing and service, we may find ourselves dealing with some chronic situations, stagnation of fluids or inflammation, possibly related to digestive issues. This is a good day for conscious and mindful eating, reducing sugar intake, sweetening this day with tending to your body, your joints, muscles and your skin. And remember the times of melancholy are full of richness, that just needs soft direction.

On Thursday, October 12th Mars finally enters its home sign of Scorpio. This is dignified Mars, potent with the directional force and discernment. If you are ruled by, this is great news, as your ability to cut through obstacles gets an upgrade. With the North Node being ruled by Mars we now can start gaining momentum on the changes that have been orbiting our energetic bodies, but didn’t having enough focus for landing. Things will start landing now, just be mindful of not being too single-minded and adapting the “ends justify the means” narrative. Mars will be forming a number of activating aspects in the weeks to come, helping us discover new avenues for forward movement and self-expression. Sometimes courage and clarity needs to be activated by the meeting of the wills. As soon as Mars enters Scorpio, it starts forming a harmonious trine to Saturn in Pisces. The grounded support for our initiatives is there, this is mutative trine, the main task is to stop clinging to something that is ready to be completely transformed, and put out into the world. Mars in Scorpio is a magician of the unseen reality, and courageously meeting the entirety of who we are is a part of this magic. On Thursday evening the Moon enters Libra, and we are rolling into our first Eclipse.

On Saturday, October 14th we arrive at the main event of this fall, the New Moon Solar Eclipse at 21º degrees of Libra. What about personal and collective justice that we keep missing? How have we been unjust to our potential and how is that connected to the conformity narratives woven into our systems? As many of you know, it is generally suggested not to push or influence events right around the Eclipse, as this is the time when the Universe speaks and we need to listen. Solar Eclipse cycles do not run as a regular New Moon cycles, their influence spans in the course of almost 19 years, so our power and responsibility lies in the response, in our inner state, in how well we can receive the information coming our way and act in a timely manner. Eclipse is a moment between the end and new beginning, this is our litmus test for alignment and ability to trust. Libra in many ways deals with the man-made reality, the reality in the form of art, legal systems, societal norms of behavior, diplomacy, institute of marriage and any relational disputes. We may find some of these themes showing up in our lives as outdated, or in need for a major transformation. An extended article on the Solar Eclipse is coming separately, as it is too vast of a topic. With Love, Mariana.
